Sad inevitability: if a Democrat somehow manages to win in 2028, they will not close these facilities. In fact, they will expand them.

These fucking things are held together with zip ties. Jesus Christ. It's both evil and at the same time incompetent.

We have a better A name to describe it than Alcatraz.

[–] [email protected] 18 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

I haven't heard anyone say Alligator Auschwitz yet, but at the rate we're going it might be appropriate.

Edit: Ah I'm too late, I saw it further down

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

They beat me to it many hours ago. I hope it catches on because that's sure as hell what I'm calling it.

Is there any air conditioning in these units??? Jesus fucking Christ it’s the Florida’s Everglades. They are trying to kill people through heat exhaustion

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago

They are trying to kill people through heat exhaustion

That's a risk they're willing to take (with other people's lives)

[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 week ago (1 children)

when this is over, could we use this to house all the ICE thugs and MAGA politicians?

Evil. I fucking hate how I'm living through a major historical event like this

[–] [email protected] 25 points 1 week ago (5 children)

The people doing this are evil. What can I do, I’m trapped in NYC by a job I can’t leave, and I have a family, so I’m not going to be a guerilla… but I give it 3 months before idiots on the right start posting their Florida gas chambers

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago

they'll do slavery then gas chambers for those who can't work due to injury, exhaustion, and malnutrition

[–] [email protected] 27 points 1 week ago (8 children)

At some point people are going to start having to risk their comfortable lives to resist

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

The germans didn't, the allies had to fight their way across europe

[–] [email protected] 17 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Being trapped by a job does not sound like a life of comfort. Leaving my job would mean being flat broke in two weeks and then starving. If you work paycheck to paycheck, you literally cannot afford to risk your lifestyle to resist.

It's possible to organize with people that have the means to help those dedicated to the cause, you don't have to just give up everything and be alone.

The Nazis used wood. Other than that, I don't see much difference here.

[–] [email protected] 21 points 1 week ago

And gave them windows. Trump doesn't even give his victims that much

[–] [email protected] 46 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Wait, "alamy" claims ownership of the picture?! As in monetizing the fucking Holocaust!?

[–] [email protected] 30 points 1 week ago (1 children)

capitalism has no mortality

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

No rules it seems as well. That one image has more "boring dystopia" in it then most feel good news stories.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

only rule is unbound greed

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 week ago (2 children)

If I could monetize the holocaust, I don't think I would

Yep. Appears to be

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago

Ugh, I need to find more ammo.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

The first time as tragedy, the second time as farce.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago (2 children)

As horrible as this is, those are fences with plastic zip ties. That won’t keep them very long.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Yes, the gestapo that will murder anyone who does something they don't like will be the main deterrent.

Better odds against them than armed thugs looking for any excuse to kill you.

If you think we are all safe because of some plastic zip ties then I have bad news for you.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

I think you missed my point.
