Well one pair of missing trackies has been found in a bag from a previous hospital trip.

The other pair are completely gone. They either have to have been in the clothes that got ruined and thrown out - otherwise those were some moths.

The tricks these BMX riders do are nuts. So entertaining to watch.

Love the commentators too!!!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 months ago

Yeah it's very exciting to watch

I managed to get a trip to Kmart after the doctor today but really didn’t like any of their trackie daks. They all had the wide rigid elastic waistband high and tight on your stomach and I can’t stand even the suggestion of being squeezed. Or it digging in if you bend. Also the rest of the stuff was ugly.

I don’t want to have to sew my own clothes 🙃

My ascolor trackies have that shit overenthusiastic waist band. Really regret them tbh. Even bought 3xl for hernia comfort wear.

I thought it was just a trendy cut for women’s daks… maybe they’re making them all over tight and rigid *to compensate for eventual stretching of the elastic but it’s still a shit move. The elastic is never going to stretch out if I can’t stand to wear the damn things and the purpose was comfort.

Sorry to hear about the hernia

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I'm on the mend from the hernia thanks, those pants still suck. Either give me gurgley stomach or press too hard on the surgery site.

Uncomfortable exercise/slob wear should be illegal. That goes double when sick, disabled or recovering from surgery

Late gratitude contribution. I am grateful for scotch.

I am grateful for gummy vitamins, they have been so good.

Goodnight all. I think I've just had enough of today. See you in the morning!

Far out this post viral fatigue is fucked. Third day in a row I feel like my brain has been cotton wool all day long. The coffees barely touch me. I really didn't feel too comfortable driving, I felt like I was zoning out way too often. Didn't even help that I got extra sleep because I didn't connect my phone charger properly overnight so it went flat and I slept right past my time to leave.

I really need to (a) fall asleep early and (b) stay asleep tonight... I'm already in bed, fed and showered, I think tonight shall involve podcasts.

E: I've got the warmest possible clothes on and the heater on while under the covers in bed and its still too cold to fall asleep ❄

Have you done a rat test by chance to make sure it’s not covid?

Whatever you ended up catching it seems to have really hit you hard.

I hope you feel better soon.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I did one last week before going to the drs and it came back negative for covid and flu a+b. No idea what it was. But fatigue can result from all kinds of viral infections. Dengue was the worst.

The weather is definitely not helping with recovery. I do think i need some physical activity to get my blood flowing and improve my sleep, but not so much that I'm knackered beyond any use. Wanted to try walking to work tomorrow but 2C and foggy in the morning, I don't think so...

Ita going to be awful tomorrow morning. 1 degreee on my side projected at 6am.

I think I’m going to have to set the heater on a timer if I want to get out of bed.

Got to be outside for an hour tomorrow morning as usual. It’s going to be rough.

Welcome to the Daily Chair. All the tacks are out now, all approx 200. I've tidied the work area and am ready to attach the linings, the springs then the padding and covers. Yay.

I have also been buying some tapestry fabrics to make some scatter cushions, 2 big cushions for the big chairs, and two smaller ones for the dining captain chairs.

here are some of the components . I have to staple and sew it all into something resembling a functional supporting seat. There's the wood frame, the webbing, springs, lining fabric and the cover . That grey stuff is the original kapok chair stuffing

How did you get into this hobby? It is the most admirable.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 months ago

Turning all those bits into a functional chair seems like basically witchcraft. I am very impressed.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

What is a dining captain chair?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (2 children)

I was told that the two armchair dining chairs in a set of dining chairs were called the carver as it was the meat carvers chair. So maybe the main dining chair?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 months ago

yes, the two end carvers

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 months ago

I want to be a captain meat carver so bad I can taste it
