It’s a multibillion dollar franchise. How exactly is it overrated? Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean it’s over rated.
You're confusing over/under rated with popularity.
No I’m not. You are confusing your own tastes with what is generally considered “good”.
The original trilogy is solid. Those films are 40+ years old. Obviously they don’t compare to anything you’ll see now.

The fans hold them in such high regard it's embarrassing. They are OK but the rest of the series are just as good if not better imo -- especially the effects.

OG and Prequels are better than the new ones.
Prequels are hot garbage, they were only saved by the memes. A pessimist could argue that an incredibly successful viral marketing campaign saved them.
There’s maybe 3 or 4 actual great scenes in all of the prequels. The rest makes me fall asleep in 0.04 seconds or makes me roll my eyes so hard they go down the street.
