Oh joy. Notices of a rent increase and a full day power outage. Must not shoot the Postie.

Crazy tooth pain tuesday night, saw my dentist yesterday, tooth extracted (2nd one in 2 months but it had to go), today is pretty much pain free with like no soreness in my gums or jaw. I'm glad, but also odd.

made a long to do list last night , I have pretty much done none of it so far but I did measure the chairs so I know how big to make the new covers

hope the new covers will look cool, they are a patchwork of different tapestry fabrics, just have to match the colours , rust tones with rust, greens , etc etc

Crazy how in the other place threads about world events get swarmed overnight when most of us are asleep. Really makes you think.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 5 months ago

I notice that here too, which really annoys me. I understand it a little bit more on Reddit, but it pisses me off so much when there's an article from abc.net.au posted in c/AustralianNews@aussie.zone and half the comments are just Americans being confused.

I guess that's the one positive of the week long federation delays with Lemmy World - most of the Americans are segregated into their own isolated cosm for about a week until it federates over here

So I have a decision to make.

Do to get my headlight replaced after work or do I save it for the weekend instead?

Edit Update: Apparently I can't get mine replaced via Supercheap Auto barn and that I may need to go to a mechanic instead.

:(

How much driving are you doing in the dark?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 months ago

Very rarely as I don't go out at night.

Darkest it'd get would be when I leave for work at 7 in the morning. I get home relatively early in day.

I'm craving fancy little chocolates. Like from the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie's beautiful cabinet or Haighs or the like. What's your go to flavour? I'm a sucker for anything passionfruit or strawberry/raspberry.

Just made myself a cup of tea and ensconced in the oodie. Back to work

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 months ago

I live in mine now. It just automatically goes over the top after I dress.

I don't think that's how you're supposed to do those tests... :|

Why did I book my flight for later this afternoon? I'd be in Melbourne by now if I went the morning flight.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 5 months ago (1 children)

It's f'ing cold here though. I'd be waiting till it warms up.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 months ago (2 children)

Probably warmer than Tassie.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 months ago

but not as pretty

[–] [email protected] 4 points 5 months ago

But not as warm as Cairns

There was a kid in the ER last night with the same name as my kid. He had his hand smashed with a brick at school and he was still waiting after we left. Poor little fella was OVER it and just wanted to go to bed, hope he is ok.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 5 months ago (1 children)

that could be nasty , hope he doesn't have any bad lasting injury πŸ™

Ooooh, ouch

My landlord is actually really good. House is pretty shit but he's a really chill guy. Feel pretty lucky. I wish I could transport this place about 10kms closer to the city.

Now this hotel doesn't have very good soundproofing (at this point I don't believe any building in Australia does) and I can hear everything happening in the hallway and the rooms next to me. BUT I've got a splitty in my room and I set it to come on if it goes under 19 and this is great. So much easier to wake up when it's not like 5Β° in your room

I still couldn't get a very good sleep though. Dozed off again at 5:30 or so and woke up again now. But tonight I'll have a better sleep

Argh, the last thing I need. One of my headlight globes aren't working and I need it replaced :(

[–] [email protected] 7 points 5 months ago (2 children)

I've got a crusty nose. I don't know if I've sandpapered skin off or it's dried smeared snot.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Crusty means you're at the arse end of it :)

Noice! A free salty snack for later!

[–] [email protected] 4 points 5 months ago

These boogies are making me thirsty.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 months ago

Perfect for fixing an undersalted lunch

[–] [email protected] 5 points 5 months ago

Thank you, that’s quite enough

[–] [email protected] 8 points 5 months ago

You've just grossed me out more than anyone else on Lemmy has - congratulations!

I just realised I have had my car 18 years. Am I supposed to throw it a big party or something?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 5 months ago

Kick it out of the house and turn the garage/parking space into a pool room.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 5 months ago (1 children)

if you like it? get a cut/polish and maybe a ceramic coat. It'll last longer that way.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 5 months ago

Considering my usual standard of care the shock from that sort of treatment might be too much for it. Maybe just a wash. Or more realistically maybe I'll get around to brushing the cobwebs off the side mirror 🀣

Registered it to vote?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 months ago

Has it had its driveshaft greased yet? There are paid services for that

[–] [email protected] 8 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Oooo. We should have a joint 18th. Take them down to the servo, fill them up. It'll be an expensive night.

My 40yo car could chaperone.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 5 months ago

My 7yo car could sit in the corner playing its Switch and complaining that it wants to go home.
