tired of having friends and family who want to do things with me (and also a job) instead of being able to just post up and watch 4-5 matches of football per day

Careful what you wish away!

As of, I can't recall exactly, a couple of days ago? The "Next" button at the bottom of the feed page just takes me to the same first page of results. Is anyone else experiencing this?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 3 months ago (1 children)

works fine for me -- are you using the desktop/mobile version of lemmygrad.ml, or something else?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Hi, I'm on desktop, Firefox browser. Though now I'm thinking about it, maybe I do need to look into updating my browser. I might have disabled updates at some point in order to keep things the same, but that might mess with it if depends on something newer? Hmm.

Barring any info that it might be something else, I might look into browser update later today to see if that makes any difference.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I'm using a Firefox-based browser too. I don't think the "next" button is using some new functionality but you might as well update the browser (for security fixes, at the very least)

[–] [email protected] 0 points 2 months ago

So, thanks for the back and forth on this. I ended up updating and it seems to be working again now. Since you figure it's not using new functionality, my best guess is something old got deprecated in a way that my version was depending on in some part of the process.

Either way, working now, so yay.

I love my Keffiyeh, not only for political statements but it's great headwear for against the sun. But don't have the courage to wear it casually.

Here's a song about the Kuffiyeh that I like https://play.samaanetwork.net/music/lof-3eqalak/

One of my dreams is coming true as tomorrow I will buy a van which I will convert to a sleeping area so that I can tour around a bit. The world may be going to shit but I will at least have had some adventure before that.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Probably going to follow in your footsteps in a year. What kind of van is it?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (1 children)

Well maybe not van as in the kind of vehicle you'd think about when you see these van life people, but it's a Citroën Berlingo. It has enough space to add a bed and with some thought you can also add storage and a system that can be modified into a bench and a table.

My father in law has one too and despite it not being the biggest van model out there, it is surprisingly spacious and you can comfortably take long trips with it.

Citroën Berlingo

I'm guessing a 2m length bed would be difficult?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I tried laying down in the back and if I slide the front seats forward it is big enough. You wouldn't be able to constantly have the bed installed I think but that's why I will build a convertable setup. That way I have room to sit during the day and at night I can unfold the construction so that it is a bed.

With a smaller van you just have to be creative. My sister in law also has a van but it is one of those moving vans, like a small truck. She can fit an entire kitchen, seating area, bedroom and bathroom in there. I will never get that in a Berlingo but based on the vids on YouTube and the build my father in law has I should be able to manage.

Basically something like this should be doable:

I have an uncle who drives one of them, one of the most vans

[–] [email protected] 0 points 3 months ago

Yeah there's a lot of them on the road. Solid car.

Tomorrow I am going to explain how the British Empire inspired the Third Reich. It is a subject that I have been wanting to discuss for a couple of years now but I lacked the material for it.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Looking forward to it! We've all heard how the US inspired them, but their relationship to the British empire isn't talked about nearly as much.

I knew Hamas were going to win and they did.

"china is a crony capitalist system where the state decides!"

"China has empty cities!"

"There are no liberties in china!"

"You cant say anything in china!"

Apparently Redstream are anti-China, shit sucks. Thought they were ML, but turns out they're probably Maoists

[–] [email protected] 0 points 3 months ago

There was a post recently also about how Pamphlets was being cringe and was saying some really weird things. I take the same view on them as i do on Redstream: yes they have some bad takes and no they are not completely aligned with our views, but they are nonetheless useful as a source of agitprop content. We can take what's good and discard/criticize the bad.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 3 months ago

Yeah, they had a post praising the Shining Path. The comments tore it apart for obvious reasons. It sometimes covers the war in Ukraine as "inter-imperialist" too.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 3 months ago

Luckily they got called out in the comments for it
