I thought disk drives weren't even useful on consoles anymore. Aren't they basically just a key now to download the digital version onto your console.

More genius naming. Black edition called “galaxy black”, because galaxies are famously very black. “Digital” editions don’t have a disc drive, so you can’t put optical discs containing digital data into them - but optical discs are still “special” at least, because Microsoft can’t remotely delete your library if it’s on read-only discs.
They're trying it again.
Ah they're still calling them Xboxes and confusing everyone.
Why buy the digital one when you can get the one with a disk drive that has double the storage space?
1tb all digital and 2tb with disk drive doesn't really make much sense to me if they are trying to go all digital. Why incentivize people to buy the one with a disk drive like that?
Same reason people would buy an S when they could get more power, more storage, and a disk drive with an X: price. $450 vs $600 isn't nothing.
Public outcry, plus I'm sure the 2tb where you can actually buy physical copies will be VERY limited production to force people's mental choices into things they would never otherwise willingly buy.
