I went for an 8 km run mid-week and felt quite good after a week off, but pulled up quite sore which made this morning's Parkrun more challenging than usual. I did do a thorough warm-up to avoid any injuries, but my legs definitely felt heavier than usual and I ran quite a bit slower - only just scraped in under 25 minutes. I forgot my inhaler, which impacted my breathing, then dropped my MP3 player at high speed right before the end which banged it up a bit. Overall, a bit of a shitshow this morning...
Running
A place for runners.
I got pneumonia and lost a lot of fitness around the start of covid, and I've spent years since trying to find my running groove, but mostly failing. This year has been different though! I've finally got my momentum and my passion back, and for the last month or so, the post pneumonia parkrun PBs have been coming thick and fast! Each week I'm beating my previous weeks time, and it feels good!
I've missed being fit
Congrats on the recovery and keep up the running!
Kings birthday weekend here, so got down to the beach again. Great run this morning in the misty rain through the back of the town, then onto the beach. Doggo off lead for about 3km or so. Spontaneous decision at the end of the run to go for a swim was a good one - bloody cold though.

Wow, sounds picturesque!
