I follow Pamphlets and they are so weird. Like, sometimes I can like their posts no problem but other times i just have to scroll because… yeah.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 months ago

They really seem like a young teenager who is falling into the Maoist/Ultra/Puritan communism rabbithole.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 3 months ago

Insane indeed 1000011959

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 months ago

Fuck Funko, they destroyed FnaF

[–] [email protected] 10 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I think that account is affiliated with or a member of the "PatSoc"/MAGA-Communism "movement"

That being said, and I realize the humor in this meme, but funko pops are literally made and sold in China

They seem to be progressive, don't know where you get that

https://x.com/PamphletsY/status/1796120869640741201

They are vocally anti-Trump as well

https://x.com/PamphletsY/status/1795872924475195810

But I get you, I'm always checking if a communist account isn't secretly PatSoc, I'm still sad about MidWesternMarx and MangoPress

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Wait, MangoPress is PatSoc? That's disappointing

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (1 children)

Yup, sadly. I didn't know it at first but saw more signs and then it became indiscutable. They used the word ret@rded in one of their Telegram posts and when I called them out of it they said I was pushing American identity politics on them. Another time they called a politician a f@ggot, but edited it quickly. Another time they shouted out a Taiwanese rapper's telegram page, in which that rapper called themself a MAGAcommunist, and when I called them out of it they deflected and said that they were just showing support to a friend. Another time they showed supprt for Dutch farmers protests even though those protests were by farm owners who were mad they had to follow environmental regulations. And when Cuba passed their family code referendum, they didn't make a post about it, even though it was the biggest story of the day, and from a communist country. Sorry for the wall of text, I wanted to rant.

I assume you are referring to Xiangyu? I hate that mindless hanjian MAGA-"Communist" bootlicker.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I thought Pamphlets was anti-LGBT? I swear I remember seeing tweets of theirs that came off that way.

I like those tweets you linked though

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 months ago

There's also this one. This is even better proof they are pro-LGBT I think

I think they got banned from YouTube for being too based.

Edit: too based

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 months ago

I wonder if that song is in Spotify or Youtube. Bcuz it so damn good! I am on my 5th repeat.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I saw a couple of this accounts posts over the last few days and was unsure if I should follow, but I am now.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 3 months ago (2 children)

It’s a bit clout chasey, getting into the Haz-Hinkle sphere fyi.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 months ago (1 children)
[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I’m not on twitter, but from what I’ve seen they seem to at least clout chase around them.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 months ago

Could be, maybe they are trying to steer people away from those patsoc accounts

[–] [email protected] 7 points 3 months ago

ugh, of course.

[–] [email protected] 32 points 3 months ago (2 children)

You prefer having plastic toys (that actually don't do anything) over having humans live decently and be happy and free. Nothing else to add

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

you prefer having plastic toys over having humans live decently and be happy and free

why do you think they hate socialism? you can't hoard plastic crap in communism!

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Funny thing is 99% of the "plastic crap" is literally built in a communist country, which outcompetes the west, and is increasingly doing so in all fields, and produces more ethically (though that is also a matter of the world system we live in), efficiently, and environmentally than the west.

The Chinese proles are increasingly eating better, living better, having better stuff at cheaper prices, having better homes (in contrast to the west where home ownership is out of sight for an increasingly large share of the population), and it's all thanks to communism, to the dictatorship of the proletariat being upheld, and delivering such wondrous results for its people.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 months ago

Gamers : "I am being exploited by Chinese capitalism!" (Buys another Funko Pop to keep on the shelf still in original packaging)

[–] [email protected] 10 points 3 months ago

While this post is funny the person(s) on that account I believe have started dabbling in patsoc shit.

[–] [email protected] 23 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I worked at Amazon over a decade ago, when these were new, it was the first time I saw these things and all I could think was how ugly they were and why would anyone buy them. I'm still thinking that but stricken with the fact that they still exist against all rational thought

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 months ago

Consumerism is a helluva coping mechanism

[–] [email protected] 13 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

I would love to open every box of this stupid collector's things

They're so pitiful that I would have them mad just for doing this, I don't need to damage anything.

I had my doubts about communism, but if this is true I'm all in *undust AK-47*

[–] [email protected] 27 points 3 months ago

we got a new β€œcommunism no iPhone” guys, peak theoretic development

[–] [email protected] 58 points 3 months ago (2 children)

ngl they do be right though, we must purge the shitty ugly ass plastic things

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 months ago

They're so wasteful. We have to save the climate and that means cutting this wasteful production

[–] [email protected] 41 points 3 months ago (4 children)

Even besides the plastic aspect I don't get why people like it so much. Even if you like the IP that the figurines are of they look like shit.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

It's crazy how they found a way to sell ~~toys~~ little useless plastic things to adults. Capitalism is all about expanding the markets and finding new consumers, like how they found a way to market cigarettes to children.

Edited toys out because actual toys one can play with can be cool.

[–] [email protected] 22 points 3 months ago

The "gamer" identity is purely based on mindless consumption regardless of the product's use value.

You can buy overpriced chairs labeled for gamers. Powdered sugar, called G-fuel. Gamer shades, gamer branded clothes, fucking blue dyed mac and cheese with a picture of fucking Sonic the Hedgehog.

A Gamer will drop his cash on the most random shit as long as it's marketed for gamers.

You could literally slap a gaming label on a bucket of dogshit and some hyperconsumerist gamerbrained troglodyte will squeal and fork over his lifesavings so he can validate his fake identity as a "gamer."

[–] [email protected] 19 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Using the same labour and materials they could produce normal looking figures instead of those deformed abominations, which would be actually pretty fine, having so many different ones in the same scale and series.

[–] [email protected] 22 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Dumbasses be thinking this trash is going to gain value over time πŸ˜‚

[–] [email protected] 14 points 3 months ago (2 children)

There's no way this is true. These things are advertised with abundance in mind. There's always a never ending amount of them at any store that stocks them.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 3 months ago

When I was a kid living in a shitty apartment, my neighbor's 7year old daughter collected beanie babies. I hear they just bought their 14th Gulfstream III this year. πŸ₯³

[–] [email protected] 15 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Why u think they keep them packaged πŸ˜‚

[–] [email protected] 10 points 3 months ago

To protect them from dust
