Those are not really runes, they include Cyrillic characters in runic style. I see the words "v sedemiy den maya" (on the 7th day of May) and "kopim" (with a spear).
i also don't think runestones have artwork like this on them? like fuckin have fun carving that with a chisel.. and the paint would last approximately 2 hours painted onto a rock in nordic weather.
Certainly i've never seen a runestone with artwork on it and i live in sweden, hell they don't even have that much text, it's like the ancient equivalent of graffiti tags.
TORBJÖRN MADE THIS STONE IN HONOUR OF HIS DAUGHTER HILDA WHO MADE A REALLY LOVELY STEW
like fuckin have fun carving that with a chisel
My man's never seen ancient Egyptian carvings
I was not suggesting anything else about the stone would fool anyone. Just don't bother trying to decode them if you expect standard runes.
if you expect standard runes.
Guilty
Thank you for deciphering this... as someone who can read runes somewhat I was very confused.
It's not weirder than many other things that are from centuries or millennia ago. It's always fun to see the weird theories people come up with, everything from aliens to masturbatory use.
I remember that day. It was when a drunk Russian with a spear proved us all that Skynet has shit on humanity.
Monkey always wins.
Isn't this something that happened almost a decade ago
Yup, 8 years a according to youtube.
I searched the drone in the sky for an embarrassing amount of time.
Here is an alternative Piped link(s):
Piped is a privacy-respecting open-source alternative frontend to YouTube.
I'm open-source; check me out at GitHub.
“Remember…” No.
I wish I was there to remember it lol. On a different note, historians will know exactly what happened; the story is written around the stone in runes...
Did it really happen?
IIRC the drone operator had permission from the event for the shot and the spear thrower did it as a joke because he assumed he’d miss and nobody had any hard feelings because of how impressive it was.
Thanks for the link.
I wonder if the drone operator was reimbursed for his loss.
Edit: who the fuck is downvoting me for this!!?!
