Welcome to Food Crimes! This community is here to collect all and any post about cursed food and generally unusual consumables.

Right now, here’s the rules:

  1. Posts must include an image or video containing food or drink.
  2. It must be unusual or cursed in some way. a. For example, something like Doritos Milk would be unusual, but normal milk would not.
  3. No AI posts whatsoever, and any images that were altered (Ex: Photoshop, Gimp) need to be tagged.

How to tag: To tag your posts, please prepend or append the tag name inside square brackets. For example,[OC] Foo bar baz or foo bar baz [Meta] would be acceptable. Multiple tags will require separate pairs of brackets, like so: [Edited][OC] foo bar baz

Here are the current tags:

Just imagining the result if all of these food items were actually boiled long enough for the potatoes to be cooked.

I have no idea. As far as the hot dogs and the fake crab meat go, those are definitely already cooked before they’re sold, as they’re safe to eat cold right out of the package.

It looks like as if you explained a low-country boil to an alien.

"Arthropods, tubers and pig flesh encased in tubing. Got it."

LOL, you just reminded me that this dish exists:

This is Yen Ta Fo (Pink Noodle Soup), a popular street food in Thailand. It's often viciously spicy yet tangy and subtly sweet and pretty much always has some sort of seafood in it (usually shrimp, fish cake, octopus etc.), as well as some sort of meat, with coagulated pork blood being a rather popular choice (the version in the picture has fried tofu instead). So pretty much the Thai version of a seafood boil.

I always though it looks like something aliens might eat and it tends to look rather offensive to western tastes, but done well, it's actually quite good.

I agree with the OOP, it should be lit... on fire

Edit: damn you autocorrect

Yup. Autocorrect strikes again

I've seen videos of dudes chewing on severed human legs while running from the cops and this is less appetizing.

Sorry but... videoS? Plural? I would have thought one is enough

This is a true food crime. Someone needs to be prosecuted for this.

LOL! Take my upvote 👍

I mean, it's likely just poverty but I'm pretty sure they'll pay the price on their next visit to the restroom.

They say poverty is the root cause of most crime. Usually they're talking about stealing and drugs but this also counts.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 5 months ago

Poverty has also been the source of some of the most improbable recipes. Well, we really have nothing else to eat I guess we will have to eat this. 100 years later it's a local delicacy that everyone hates but you "must try it"

It definitely appears to be the cause of the majority of food crimes. It’s pretty much always either that or having more money than sense.

Oof. That's gonna need some extra TP...

😂
