This is fucked. Like @tuckerm said a few comments below, this story is from 2019.

The judge later apologized to the jury and said something to the effect of, "When God tells me I gotta do something, I gotta do it," according to the document.

Judge Jesus, I have a great career path for you if you are bound to god's word, and it is absolutely not the judiciary. Try quitting and then working as a clergyman. Sounds like that's your true calling. πŸ™„

Note that this was a few years ago -- I searched for the judge's name, and it looks like he has since retired.

It's always frustrating that these stories usually end with someone receiving a written warning, rather than being removed from their position due to the fact that they are obviously unqualified for it.

I AGREE with this Judge that GOD ACCEPTS SEX TRAFFICKERS!

If you talk to God, that is religion. If God talks back, that is mental illness.

This should be easy to resolve. All the judge has to do is prove that his god told him that she was innocent.

Beyond a reasonable doubt

He provided the commission with letters from two medical professionals who examined him at his request, who concluded that while Robison is not currently suffering from a mental illness, the "most plausible explanation" is that he was experiencing "delirium" as a result of personal stressors, his medical condition and the drugs he was taking at the time to treat the condition, according to the disciplinary report.

Oh, well that’s okay then. It’s not like he’s in charge of anything serious like overseeing the trials of people who are sex trafficking children! ΰ² _ΰ²

I have so many questions

Sounds like someone should be investigating that judge.
