The scar on my forehead from honestly trying to fly is all of the evidence that I need that I honestly tried to fly.

I flew in third grade during recess just east of the swings while I was chasing a leaf. Only flew about 3 feet off the ground for maybe 10-12 feet and glided back down.

See, the trick is you were supposed to miss the ground

Define “fly”

I’ve been airborne due to me not jumping or falling, carrying a sheet of plywood and windy days are fun. Airfoil goes WHEEEE.

I took flight in a 4-wheeler and hit my sternum on the handlebars

That's the only time I ever rode a 4-wheeler

Me. I have. No, like, I've literally had flight lessons, 10/10 highly recommended.

"The Guide says there is an art to flying", said Ford, "or rather a knack. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss."

That is actually a pretty accurate summary of how orbits work.

Just throw yourself at the ground and miss.

Every time I hear this, I imagine somebody jumping into a belly flop, but instead of falling just yeeting over the horizon at the speed if light.
