I have been watching various movies, readings and videos of Beowulf and about Beowulf. Here are some.

Beowulf by Robert Zemeckis. Whyyyyyyy. It could have been awesome but it looked like crap. 2 hobbits

Beowulf , documentary by Michael Woods, 4 hobbits

History documentary by some academic poetry chap, 3 hobbits

Beowulf 1998 animation with Derek Jacobi, 3 hobbits

The Hobbit , for following Tolkein's texts on Beowulf and the book The Hobbit and for general awesomeness in heroic story telling, 6 out 5 hobbits. I love it even more now,

This week I couldn't make it to aldi so did my shop online at Coles. The whole things ridiculous. I spent so much more than I would've at aldi for the same things :/

I also got to experience their downsized bag things and I do not like them. Apparently they were rolled out because they match the height of the crate things or some shit, but I really believe it was just another dirty tactic for getting more money out of us. I didn't even fucking want bags, but I didn't get a say, it wouldn't let me not get bags. Now I have a double the amount of bags and because they're so small I don't even know what I can use them for. They're just going in the recycling

Set one up in your kitchen and add recycling stuff in it. Then when it's full put it in the recycling bin outside. Repeat.

Eh, I did that with the big ones, but these tiny ones are too tiny

My "boyfriend" didn't message me on my birthday.

It's time to sleep now

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Hugs and happy birthday.

Did you discuss with him a plan on talking each day so you wouldn't feel anxious?

Because I don't see his actions as being unreasonable, he needs to study and he told you.

Like I said before, what would you have done in the days when people didn't have phones or what would you do if your BF was in the military?

You would have to trust him and you would have to learn to cope with anxiety, even learn how not to be anxious.

Thank you! I tried to, but he's been ignoring my attempts to reach out for a week. No calls or texts back. I know he has been on his phone. His friends have posted videos on social media of them goofing around a bit. He probably wants to break up with me if he's gone this long without talking to me.

I totally understand the studying thing because I am studying too. But to never return a call or wish your partner a happy birthday because you're so focused on giving them the silent treatment? That really hurts.

Time to give him the flick. You are the one doing all the emotional labour here - he's coasting and exploiting your anxieties. He has time to goof off with mates, but can't spend 15 seconds texting you. Time to call it quits and move on.

Happy Birthday!

I hope you had a good one or treated yourself to something.

Happy birthday LE

[–] [email protected] 4 points 6 months ago

I'm sorry to hear that. Happy birthday to you.

Hands cold. Long week. So, so tired. Fulfilled but also still have so much to do. Going away in two weeks, have planned nothing...

Is it time for bed? Feels like it’s time for bed.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 6 months ago

It is past my bedtime, I have work tomorrow.

Got an interview next week! Looks promising!

Also, I'm playing this game called "Cult of the Lamb" and I have to say, it's adorable, addictive and a hell of a lot of fun. That's my evening sorted.

Enjoy your night everyone :)

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Nice one!

Good luck on the interview!

I’m not sure what sort of game Cult of Lamb is but hope you’re having fun.

I’m playing Crypt of the Necrodancer at the moment while taking a break from Astral Ascent.

Not an easy game!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 months ago

Thanks heaps 🙂. It's a great opportunity if it works out.

Crypt of the necrodancer is on my list.

Cult of the lamb is a mix between dungeon crawler and base building. It's really clever and fun even if you're not a fan of those types of games generally.

I can't believe I never noticed it before. It's the perfect blend of genres. There's a bunch of mods for it as well, but I'm not touching them just yet.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 months ago

You can get as involved as you want with it too. It's an easy way to waste some time!

Let us hope that tonight's footy is a percentage booster - for Carlton.
