People giving out about recording in gyms as if context doesn't matter. Checking your form is good practice and part of going to the gym.

It is also a private business that others pay to use. Their right to privacy outweighs your right to film.

Just because a place is private doesn't mean you have a right to privacy. It means the owners of the place have the right to dictate how much privacy they give.

Absolutely, but that guy was not an owner or employee so that's not relevant.

I'm not saying gyms should have to allow it, I'm saying people who are working out should understand it.

I don't understand your argument. Surely paying customers have MORE right to privacy rather than less?

His privacy was not being invaded whatsoever and he approached the situation like an asshole.

They're a gym, unless the business has stated the rules that prohibit recording then I don't see why privacy is a matter to discuss as more or less at all.

Fact is if it were prohibited then he could have alerted staff, if it were not he could have asked or stated that he didn't want to be in the background of the video. Instead he put himself in the video and made a scene, was aggressive and threatening and you're defending him.

if the meatball had his panties in such a twist he should have gone to the management, not threaten a woman. what a poor little baby manchild

He wasn't nice about it and that was wrong but you rarely have the right to record a person without their permission and she had no right to record him. It doesn't matter the rules of the gym, it's his right to not be filmed. He could have been put in danger by her actions.

It's not at all his right to not be filmed if the gym allows filming. He was not being filmed until he put himself in there, he behaved despicably. If someone else's perfectly normal and legal actions put him in danger that is his problem.

I don't think influencers should be filming their shit but if someone does just report it and move on or engage like a decent person and explain the situation. If the gym doesn't allow it, same as above. If they do, deal with it and ask that you do not be in the video. There is no expectation of privacy in public places, businesses are open to the public so unless it is stated in their policy then this guy acted the prick.

The gym can not 'allow filming'. They can put big signs everywhere to say that they will be filming in the gym and to let them know if you don't want to be filmed, but even then there's an opt out.

A private business does not count as a public space. Even in a public space, you can not film a person without their permission in most scenarios as stated before.

It is definitely not 'legal actions' and if you think you have the right to endanger people just to make a stupid video that says a lot about you.

You absolutely have a right to film in public places. So much so that several court doctrines revolve around the idea that in a public place you "have no expectation of privacy." This is part of the series of decisions that lets us film police.

If this is definitely not in the US, and everyone else commenting knows that and I missed it, then my apologies in advance.
