So I bought a pixel 8 pro a few days ago, and my dumbass dropped it and sure enough the back glass cracked as a result. I ordered a replacement case from iFixit, but I'm worried about doing the replacement myself. Does anyone have any experience in this regard and can offer any tips? Do I have to disassemble the entire phone, or is there a way to only get the back cover/frame off without going through the screen?

I can't help as I don't have a Pixel 8/8 Pro, and (fortunately) I haven't had to replace any part of my Pixel 7a yet. So how did the back glass replacement go?

Still waiting on parts from iFixit. They're using USPS for shipping and it's taking forever. I'll probably be able to do the repair next weekend, hopefully...

My first suggestion is to put a skin or case on it and leave it be. The backglass is purely aesthetic, the phone is fully functional.

There are some people on YouTube with replacement videos for the backglass such as:

Looks like a fun project, just go slow!
