The truck missed picking up my bin today βΉοΈ
Normally it would not be an issue for me as I don't have much rubbish, but I've been doing a big cleanup and this week it is packed to the top and I have a pile of stuff already waiting for next week too. I've reported it to the Council so it should get emptied, but I presume now it won't be until Monday at the earliest.
Finally done with work, having a coffee.

Sorting the craft stuff into tubs and deciding what to get rid of. I really should be decluttering my wardrobe but turns out it's the newer 'replacement' clothes I want to ditch (plus the still new looking things that don't get worn) and the tatty frequently used clothes I want to keep.
The obvious answer is to get rid of both worn out and unworn items then buy more clothes I will actually wear, but the options in my price range are not looking good. It really seems the quality of clothing has gone down steeply
Maybe some home tailoring to make your new clothes fit better can rejuvenate your wardrobe

Picked up a bit of Macca's for lunch because I hadn't had it forever and just wanted something quick, and jesus fuck do I feel sick this arvo. I'm supposed to be doing dinner but I loathe to move because my stomach's so gurgly and upset.

I went and bought a new downlight globe to replace a dead one in my kitchen and it's flickering :( Urgh why couldn't it just work perfectly?

I am looking forward to my weekend though - I have three days off and will be doing all the fun things. Hard rubbish. Assembling flat pack furniture. Maybe some mowing and weeding if I can fit it in. How did I get to have such an exciting life? π€£
Sun is great and all but with such pale skin it's very hard to enjoy it until after 6 pm.
The man declared it beach weather this weekend. I said with this skin, you're on your own mate.
Thatβs all good. We can stay in and watch the cricket and he can play in there sand all day.

My daughter's doing chemistry this year and loving it so much she decided to tell me about her lesson today. There was talk of electrons and...that's as far as I remember because I tuned out but I nodded at the right times then I made an escape but not before I turned to the dog and said "I live in a house with nerds". He agreed.
get her one of stephen hawkingβs books (i forgot which) for the quarks and strings too

I'm writing a cover letter for the first time in 7 years (got my last job through contacts and personally introducing myself).
This is so tedious and frustrating. I keep writing "I bring..." and it ends up sounding like "I bring tales of adventure, stories of wisdom, and the skillset of a wizard" or something stupid like that.
I'm also trying real hard not to start a paragraph dissing myself with "While I have an unconventional background in..." - like, don't lead with negatives. hard habit to break

π I wish I had a radar for detecting which people reviewing job apps would have enough of a sense of humour because I'd have os much more fun writing that.
The best and most effective cover letter I ever wrote went like this : "This job sounds interesting. I think I can do it well." That was all I wrote. Got a call back within 15 minutes.
My first βrealβ job letter took 24hr and a bottle of vodka. Worked though πΊ

Doesn't matter what you do to Stone's GG wine - instant hangover for anyone over 18. Doesn't matter what you mix it with either. Have written myself off far too many times in my yoof on that shit. Made from hospital grade brandy and offcuts from the glace ginger industry. And hospital grade brandy is distilled grape stalks and seeds and only good for disinfectant. Granted it's quite good disinfectant.
EDIT for l'esprit d'escalier - think of the above as chocolate/orange flavored Handy Andy.
I quite like the Mac version as a winter warmer, but this one isnβt hitting the Terryβs spot I was hoping for.
