unless this is movie about the pool ladder serial killer I fail to see what interesting plot hooks the Sims provides since it's uh, you know, just a simulation of normal western life?

WTF is a Sims movie going to be? It’s literally a virtual dollhouse, there is no unifying story to tell.

What unifying story did the barbie movie use?

I’m at least cautiously optimistic it might actually be a similar shtick to the barbie movie. Or a pure cash grab, real coin flip at this point.
