Here's a list of tons of leftist movies.
I was really afraid they would ruin the tone of the books, and it is a bit heavy on the lolrandom awkward humor, but I gotta say I was relieved overall. Fantastic job with sanctuary moon, scarsgard nailed sec unit's vibe, and they left room for some of the more serious themes the book tackles.
its the year of the Skarsgård
it’s on appletv+ though. unfortunately i must

I love this show. Its the only show I have to watch every Friday. Its painful to wait!
All the humans are so realistically dumb. Like we all know ppl like this. Closest thing to invader zim humans I ever scene in live action. the MC dialog is sooo on point with content and timings. Alexander is nailing the duality of the characters inner vs outside self.
Only problem is with a name like murder bot I passed thinking it was horror but after watching what I have of the show, "diaries of xxXMurderBot42069Xxx" is more accurate. Absolute comedy.
I get why they did but I wish they hadn't done so much to downplay the feed stuff. The little walkie-talkies they use are the worst example of this. Just use headsets like the book, why give everyone a tiny chrome karaoke mic to lug around?
Still enjoying the show a lot; especially the Sanctuary Moon stuff.
It's a Sci-Fi show. You have to have a little thing you talk into to show that you're talking to somebody else.
Really big change that I noticed that I'm surprised didn't bother me was murderbot's lack of drones. I can see how easily they would cut the tension down. I do hope it gets some at some point
Some more detailed thoughts:
spoiler
Murderbot's refurbished state is played up a bit more, to make it more sympathetic and more distinct from the other SecUnits it encounters. It doesn't have any personal drones attached to it, and it points out how others are superior models. The humans are a bit more fleshed out and distinct and you really learn to love all of them, whereas in the first book they were all kind of just in the background and Murderbot doesn't really pay super close attention to them. Gurathin is a bitchy emo-looking type with black fingernail polish, Pin-Yee is explicitly non-binary and referred to by they-them pronouns (don't recall if this is how they were in the books but I think so?), Arada is passionate and artsy, Ratthi is a lovable goofball, and Mensah is just as compassionate and admirable a character as in the books, if a bit more put-upon by all the stress she's under. Murderbot's voiceover makes for a lot of funny moments as well.
Supposedly the next episode will feature a DeltFall survivor, another change from the books. If I had to guess I'd say they were condensing characters in future books to tie them more directly to the established ones, because it doesn't make much sense to hire a big ensemble cast and then have like 90% of them fuck off entirely for two or three seasons (if they follow one season per book). This way they have someone to represent the Corporate Rim bottom rung worker perspective that's important while Murderbot goes off on his solo adventures in the books.
Excited to see what they do with ART/Perihelion.
I've been really enjoying it so far too, in fact I saw this post right after I was trying to see if I could the latest episode.
Agreed. My only complaint is that the episodes are too short!
This, too is true to the books
True. They were really quick reads. Think I devoured the whole series in 3 days.
