The real reason other Dems are mad (calling it "selfish") is because the party probably had a plan for a big showy impeachment closer to the election, especially one that would be ongoing on election day. It's exactly the kind of useless theater they excel at. These people put it out now way too early just to boost their own profiles.

Impeaching the president while his party holds every office is like asking a football team to vote on their own penalty calls. Flag on the play! The referee is asking the violating team ... no, they all agree that no penalty has taken place, the game resumes.
Especially when Republicans are traitors to the country and are collaborators to 47's crimes.
This country is finished.
Well, as hopeless as it is, forcing votes like this has two effects
- Forces the House to all go on record for/against it. I think Trump and the GOP have pissed off enough of their own base to hurt them in mid-terms. I hope so, at least.
- Takes time off their "do all the evil" clock. If they have to go through the motions to vote on stuff like this, it's less time they have to do damage elsewhere.
Will it succeed? Almost certainly not But it's not a useless thing, either.
You have something here. MAGA does not like this Air Farce One gift. The corruption is obvious, even to the childlike idiot minds of the street level MAGAts. He could be impeached for it because he is bypassing congress (again) as he needs permission to accept such a gift to the USA ... nevermind that it's a gaudy gold jet that he gets to keep.

Just to be clear: you're talking about the base that has been though all the criminal trials (and convictions), the global embarrassment, the fascism, the attempted coup, the racism, the sexism, etc.

Bring more and faster changes against democracy to prevent this in the future. You barricade yourself further and further until even riots are no longer possible. How can you have your head so damn deep in the sand. Riots are the only thing that can help! Trump's head on a pike
