Plasma 6 Bugs

If you encounter a bug, proceed to https://bugs.kde.org, check whether it has been reported.

If it hasn't, report it yourself.

PLEASE THINK CAREFULLY BEFORE POSTING HERE.

Every once in a while I try out KDE cause I really don't like the Gnome way of doing things on a workstation.
And every time so far I was sorely disappointed by how buggy it is all around.
At least default Gnome just works.

Use Kjournald and report bugs, that's the only way you'll get bugs fixed.

The desktop icon bug aside plasma 5 wasn't buggy at all for me.

@KISSmyOS @WheelcharArtist It does. I just wish I could figure out why in Gnome that I click on FF on desktop 1 and it jumps to desktop 5. So annoying. heh. :D

Huh... same here and its been flawless. Guess thats the problem with Arch?

Weird. I'm on Arch as well, and seeing nothing remotely like what you're experiencing. It's been buttery-smooth for me.

Interesting, I've not had any of these issues on Arch Linux. My experience is mostly smooth, not perfect, but not nearly as bad as yours. Mind providing more information on your hardware configuration? I'd also recommend going through your journald logs, you can use Kjournald and kdebugsettings for this.

Similar experience here, far from a smooth transition I was hoping for after seeing all those bugs being squashed before the release.

Are you starting fresh or reusing plasma dotfiles / configs from 5?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I am reusing my config from plasma 5 but switched back to x11, maybe this will help with some bugs.

I suspect a great part of the issues are due to reuse of some dotfiles... right now I'm trying to pin down exactly what borks my wayland login, since it works for a newly created user and I don't want to reconfigure all of plasma again. I wish we had at least all config files in one place. The status quo is maddening.
