Moderator Guidelines
Moderator Guidelines
- Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
- Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
- When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
- Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
- Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
- Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
- Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
- Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
- Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
- Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
- Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
- Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
- First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
- Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
- No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
- Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
- Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.
as someone well versed in faggotry, fucking someone of the same gender is mighty fruity, uber queer, and gay af.
trust me; it's better to not worry about being straight
I believe the characters are Kazuha (bottom) and Wanderer (top) from Genshin Impact.
It’s called being a good host
Not gay
is it gay if you're both nonbinary/agender? i'll award $2 and some pocket lint to anyone who can provide a robust mathematical proof
Listen, I don't make the rules, but, as soon as anyone involved is nb or ag, everyone involved is double gay. Add an exponent for every nb or ag person involved.
There's a joke here about the transitive property. I can feel it.
ah no sorry that's not a joke you're feeling, it's just my pocket cucumber..
- homosexuality = being attracted to the gender you identify as
- agender = not identifying with any gender
- agender homosexuality = not being attracted to any gender = asexuality???
can someone check my work here
It's gay. Proof left as an exercise to the reader.
Not a mathematical proof, but straightness isn't the same as heterosexuality, nor is gay synonymous with homosexuality. Two enbies might have the same gender, making their relationship homosexual, but two enbies can also have very different nonbinary genders, therefore being heterosexual. However, those heterosexual enbies would still not be straight, because they aren't a cis man with a cis woman.
It all comes down to straightness being an entirely normative category, not a descriptive one. It's just like the bs concept of "whiteness" which will similarly exclude Europeans or people with pale skin because they don't "fit in" for arbitrary reasons.
People who insist that it's straight to have sex with the homies are trying to claim that they're "normal" and shouldn't be discriminated against just for who they fuck. It's understandable to not wanna be discriminated against, and even more understandable to think rigid constructions of sexuality are stupid. Unfortunately, the problem with some of these people is that they only want to save themselves from being treated poorly, not get rid of "othering" in general. The enlightened approach is to be rid of straightness and arbitrary normalcy.
TLDR: you're only straight if it's a cis woman with a cis man, otherwise you're queer/gay/not normal
~~Lol i feel like you just made this up~~
Edit: that tldr isn't quite accurate to the rest of your comment. But yes, very ridiculous, very outdated. Interesting perspective.
However, those heterosexual enbies would still not be straight, because they aren’t a cis man with a cis woman.
That's the first I've heard that being cis is explicitly a requirement for being "straight" ...
It is for the people who get icked out about people who don't have the "correct" genitals
you’re only straight if it’s a cis woman with a cis man, otherwise you’re queer/gay/not normal
My brain got kinda surprised at reading "not normal" because I'm surrounded by queers all the time
I'm agender and by my reckoning the sexuality of anyone who kisses me is entirely at my whim
Schrödinger’s sexuality
That also goes for having sex too - "hey babe, just so you know, it's gay sex tonight, cool?"
Do you compromise by having bi sex if they preferred straight sex one night?
Should probably be marked nsfw, given that you can see the motion lines and such
I've come to the conclusion that everything is gay, and nothing is. Even a man kissing a woman can be gay in the right context.
Hell, realizing i like women in a gay way made me learn a lot about myself xD
Fellas, is it gay to be a man kissing a woman?
Yes. As a matter of fact it is gay to exist as a man. Because you are made 1/2 from a man's sperm. So it's like super gay to even exist as a single cell in your mom's uterus.
If you're imagining her to be a man or you are thinking about anything masculine or masculine adjacent when you do, yes. If you think about how your pp feels, you're thinking about pp when kissing and it feels good and whoops now you're gay or if you're being sensitive and emotional yup, gay
If you think about how your pp feels, you’re thinking about pp when kissing and it feels good and whoops now you’re gay or if you’re being sensitive and emotional yup, gay
There are people that unironically believe this.
a pity to be them, but god, am I relieved y'all got that. The number of times I've said stuff like this on Reddit just to be argued against by good but otherwise stupid people has been really snuffing my kurfluffle. Either that or it's just all bots now.
There are people that unironically believe this.
I think you misspelled, “there are people who are terrified that they might not be straight and thus obsess over what might make someone gay.”
I remember, in my younger, conservative years, becoming terrified about how I didn’t like lesbian porn as much as stereotypical guys. I was worried I might be gay since I preferred porn with a guy in it.
So in college, being open-minded and experimental (probably why I’m now far from my conservative roots), one day I tried to jerk off to gay porn.
I learned then 1: there’s nothing scary about gay porn, and 2: gay porn isn’t a turn-on for me.
Oh and 3: a culture that makes someone worried about their sexuality because they like straight porn is really fucked up and needs to chill.
- But have you tried 🫴 femboys?
I mean I wouldn’t call myself a 0 on the Kinsey scale. Not a 3 or higher, but definitely not a 0. 🤣
I mean cmon, you're kissing a boykisser
Exactly!
