How to replace Scénic MK3 rear air vent?

Let me start by saying I’m not a ‘car-guy’, but willing to learn 🙂 yesterday I noticed that in my 2012 Renault Scénic MK3, the control knob of the rear air vent (drivers side, left) is broken. I suspect one of the kids might have done this unknowingly, so it didn’t happen by itself. I’ve found many places to buy the actual part, so that won’t be the problem. My question is how to go about replacing it. Do I just pry it out with a screwdriver, or is there a more advanced technique to it? An online guide or YouTube video would be much appreciated! As mentioned, I’m not very experienced with car repairs, but this seems something that should be doable for beginners. Many thanks in advance!

Look at the new part and see how it mounts. That will help.

I suspect you have to remove that rubber trim on the left side to start with. Then it most likely just has some tabs that hold it in place.

I'd get a toolkit for interior trim work - these are plastic pry tools, designed to prevent damaging the interior plastic parts
