The Telegraph apologises after publishing an unverified article of a family no longer being able to go on five annual holidays due to Labours VAT rate on private school fees. : ukpolitics

A reply

In the last month they've:

  • lied about private school fees,
  • lied about foreigners taking all our social housing,
  • lied about trans kids having life changing surgery,
  • lied about the cost of Net Zero to end users.

These aren't just honest mistakes, they're deliberate. Telegraph is now on-par with The Express and News of The World.

Telegraph is now on-par with The Express and News of The World.

How much further until it reaches Daily Mail levels of trash?

"now". I did a paper round 20 years ago, and the Telegraph was an obvious sack of lying shit then, too. Literally just a Daily Mail tabloid except in more serif-y font and the editors own a thesaurus.

I was going to say, did we respect the torygraph before? I don’t remember thinking it was anything other than a right wing propaganda rag before either.

I respect that one article that says the Soviet Union wanted to pre-emptively strike Germany with a million troops before they invaded Poland except France and Britain said no.

I had to Google the original headline to make sure this wasn't fake. I don't know how anyone can act like no longer being able to do on five holidays a year is a serious concern when the Labour government is in the process of gutting support for disabled people. This is beyond tone death even by the Telegraph's standards.
