Rage

So instead of the other essential house chores (which I had barely any energy for already) I’ve now done two washes of one load of dishes complete with repetitively lifting a heavy jug, a complete clean and troubleshoot including moving the heavy machine.

And am now trying a third wash (for science) that I will still have to manually rinse - or potentially completely hand wash and rinse to actually get clean.

I’m going to be in pain and not able to do anything tomorrow. Some disability aid.

So fucking pissed

Bought for almost $400

Done everything to fix it

I can’t even leave a bad review because they’re no longer being sold on that site.

Call a service rep from the manufacturer to have a look. It should still be under warrantee

and hugs,

Sometimes doing things simply is easiest. Less fuss, fewer things to go wrong.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

It was through a third party and so repairs and warranties are a wild goose chase. I’ve seen people complaining about it when looking it up.

And yes, it would be simpler to just wash dishes myself. That’s just not always possible and after past …incidents I’m selective about who I allow to help.

I hoped a machine would allow that autonomy but apparently not

Gathering ingredients for primordial soup

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I can offer some methane 😏

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

That would be splendid. Thank you.

But I heard they're all bastards. Should we have them in the soup.

In small amounts to spice things up, yes

Goodnight all! I have laundered and tidied, worked, shopped, cooked dinner, tidied up afterwards and am officially retreating to my room for the alone time my introverted soul needs. Will most likely pretend I'm going to buy a house and check out property listings before falling asleep. 🥱😴

Gibson will throw a hissy fit and run off if I pick up my phone during brushies.

Jeeeeeeeez Louise.

Fish curry made! Not the world's best pic but definitely a better outcome than the dal makhani disappointment. I'm almost done using my very old fish curry powder. One more round in the next couple of months and I'll be done.

Eggplant, green beans, tomato paste, tamarind paste, coconut milk, coriander leaves and all the other usual things 😋

coriander leaves

One of us, one of us!

Looks great :)

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

Thanks! Oh you bet I'm definitely on the pro coriander train. Soap tongues lost the genetic lottery and can't impose their misery on the rest of us

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

coriander leaves are yum

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

in total awe of your skillz

I'm just not confidant enough to cook with fish other than simple frying

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Oh, this barely involved any fish skills. I just defrosted the fillets and slid them in at the end and let it cook for 5 mins...

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

what kind of fillets , did you chop them at all?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

Cheap and nasty hoki fillets. I just chopped them into very rough pieces once defrosted. No idea if I was even cutting them the right way Then slid them in, right off the chopping board. Once in the curry you try not to stir it around too much as they flake into pieces pretty easily. Definitely tasting a lot better after sitting around a bit and soaking up the flavours

Dishwasher boogalooOk. Two runs through the dishwasher didn’t clean things well, most noticeably the cutlery.

So I’ve removed all dishes and the rack. Took out the bottom grill and filter, disassembled everything for a scrub with a child’s toothbrush and rinsed. Every single hole or outlet has been cleaned with a pipe cleaner. The outlet hose was removed and had water run through it to confirm it wasn’t blocked, then reattached and the metal ring retightened.

I’ve started it empty with no soap and watched water flow unimpeded out of all the holes. No loss of pressure. Light bubbling of the water. I have the hose in a cup to catch some for whisking after.

And if this troubleshooting doesn’t work I’m tempted to put Midea out on her lazy arse. I haven’t really found this machine to be helpful. On top of the expense it’s mostly been a massive hassle and dragged chores out.

Added to that I’ve found cockroaches love the moisture and some are nesting behind it. It’s very easy to spill water while filling so you would have to move the heavy bulk and wipe the drips behind every time, and there’s not much you can do about having to leave the door open after use.

I seriously regret the purchase. It isn’t suiting my needs and I don’t like it.

Maybe you got a shit one. I don't like how you can't leave it ajar so I put a magnet there.

spoiler

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

Yeah I don’t get it. Either the reviews were padded or I got a lemon.

I went to go leave a review and they’re no longer being sold there so that’s weird

Finally caved and put the doona on the bed. I've been holding out, alas.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago

Couldn't hold out till this weekend's "heat wave" passed? Weakling

(I've been rocking the lightweight doona so no claims of strength from me)

One more work day then a 2 week break.

Have the choice of going in super early but basically the sooner I finish the work I’ve been assigned and tidy up the office area then I’m done for the day and it’s not going to take me too long I reckon.

Also I managed to get a new ID tag and my old one deactivated with a super quick turnaround thanks to a friend now managing it all at work and they had a shift to cover over at my site so basically all it took was 4 hours for me to get a new ID Tag, this time with my photo and name on it and no cost to pay, yay!

Oh I will be tomorrow, wonder I should to get to work tomorrow by 7:30.

The work I need to do will probably take an hour or so.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Back in melbs. Silly bus replacement. Wasn't as bad as expected but yea, 4 and a bit hours :(

I guess one good thing is there are far fewer people.

One thing that perplexes me is to get from geelong to wyndham vale station and vice versa by road, you have to meander through a shitload of back streets. Poorly thought out.

This time was paying very close attention to the synthetic lawns. EVERYWHERE! I'm really not sure why people do that (sorry to anyone here who has one). Just put some rocks down, few bigger feature rocks, maybe some cacti. Wouldn't be any more work, cheap as but would look a shitload nicer.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago

I've seen synthetic lawns all around here too

as someone who had wood tiles on a terrace and a neighbour who had fake lawn , don't do it

it will collect dust and soil and plant particles and seeds brought in on the wind and when it rains it will turn to mud and sprout weeds

also, I second the call for furry room mate update 🙂

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

We need an update on your furry room mate please.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

The furry friend lived to see another day. However (!), the bottle was put outside apparently last night and the peanut butter was gone the next day.

There is something out there. I want to believe.

Clever rodent.

Hey, just get a rat trap.
