This is a very interesting question. I've often thought there's something geisha like about some parts of goth style, like the pale face. I wonder if that's related. Goths are associated with victorian fashion like corsets, stocking etc which are a big fantasy. Other than that idk

On one hand, there's a lot of goth clothes has a lot more skin showing, either with shorter cut bottoms or higher cut shirts or shoulders/chest showing.

On the other hand, it's prolly just cause they're women, and "goth" was an easy category to cash in on
