While that's true, they don't care. At this point, MAGA types openly don't care about consistency, don't care that they're doing a Hitler, don't care that they're shredding the constitution, and these Scooby-Doo ass moments of yoinking the mask off and saying "a ha, so you WERE Hitler all along!" don't matter one bit. What matters is consequences, and so far, there have been none.
While it does take an act of congress to declare a war, the US has deployed troops, at the direction of the president, in all sorts of engagements for decades without declaring war. The last time Congress declared war was WW2. Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, and so much more were directed by the president.

The US has a track record of manufactured reasons to invade a country. Look for some incident in the near future which the US blames on Greenland.

As an American I really hope the EU takes this seriously. I was screaming about shit like this since Jan 6th and nothing was done. Take these people seriously. The US will invade Greenland and it will be to distract from Putin doing something even worse in Ukraine. They are betting the EU can not fight a war on two fronts. Prove them wrong.
