Error when trying to install Steam via Software Manager (leminal.space)

I wanted to install Steam via the Software Manager. I click on install, get info that additional software will be installed, I click Continue but eventually end up with this error message. Any ideas what I need to do?

Hi! Sorry for taking to long to reply :) I didn't have time to give it a try yet, was super swamped with work, but I hope I'll finally get around to it today. I will report back about my progress :)

Go to software sources and change both to something that gets good speed. The servers go down every now and then, probably for maintenance.

Just a quick guess, did you refresh package lists? sudo apt update

Or if you use the GUI, in top right there is an icon with 3 horizontal lines, under it is option "Refresh the list of packages".
It seems that should happen automatically though, but it can't hurt.

If that doesn't work you could maybe try switching mirrors in software sources, if there is something wrong with these at the moment.

On Mint it's highly recommended to install the .deb file directly from the Steam Page. There's dozens of posts about this on the official forums if you are interested in the reasons.
