Very active post on LW: https://lemmy.world/post/12747897

Empty thread on db0: https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/post/15749604

I had initially assumed it was a problem on LWs end... but other instances seem to be federating just fine:

Just wanted to bring it to your attention. Not sure if this is on LWs end of db0's end.

Yeh the federation is scuffed atm. Manually indexing comments (by searching them) works, but I don't know if that's helpful or even wanted

Stickied this to local so that people in this instance know where they're not seeing anything new from LW. I'm still waiting for them to look at it on their end. I can see them incoming in my logs, so I don't know what the problem is currently

2 days ago I commented on an empty post, and as per usual reloaded right after (habbit from the reddit days with their unreliable servers). After reloading it also fetched 2 other comments, I think one about half and one 1 hours ago. I did notice the timing as suspicious, my comment was short so it would be unlikely for federation to happen right in that window but not the previous hour, right?

Maybe the federation you are seeing is triggered by some kind of interaction?

It seems that federation from lemmy.world > lemmy.dbzer0.com is 0.5M behind (https://phiresky.github.io/lemmy-federation-state/site?domain=lemmy.world).

I'm looking for rate limiters on my side somewhere.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 8 months ago

There's no limiting on my side that I can see. my host hasn't put them in a DOS bucket or anything. And I have no troubles from other big instances. So at this point I'm waiting for one ofd their admins to come online so we can check the logs on their side

Can someone with a lemmy.world account post here? https://lemmy.world/post/12798273

[–] [email protected] 0 points 8 months ago

Other posts in the same sub seem to be federating comments, but there is a comment disconnect

https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/post/15745631?scrollToComments=true VS https://lemmy.world/post/12728165

But I also don't see all the latest posts from that community. I'll check our logs, but nothing changes recently on our end.

Seems like every single Lemmy release comes with federation issues.

I posted a lot on my .world account in a community and when I switched to .dbzer0 nothing showed up on the said community before my new account existed. This is months if not a year ago. Thought it was a larger lemmy issue, might still be ongoing.

I was curious about this too. I post every day on [email protected] with an alt account over there then do all my actual surfing/commenting etc from this account.

The last 2 days when I have checked in over there though I can't see any of my posts. I was thinking of moving away from the shitty world anyway, maybe this will spur me to do it. It is mainly cause I don't know how to actually create a community and haven't bothered to look into it yet cause I'm lazy xD

I see 302 comments from sjw and we updated last week.

yeah, I noticed this when trying to look at [email protected]

i thought the community died, but it was quite active when i viewed it as a guest on the actually instance

edit: wow, this federation bug with lemmy.world has made me realize how a huge majority of communities that i'm subscribed to are on lemmy.world and i need to diversify the communities i'm in
