Were you attempting to create a lemmy thread or just making a one-off mastodon post? Cause it got kind of popular.

@Bitrot I know, I thought I was the only one that was boring enough to be excited about PDF editing πŸ˜‚

There's still the feature that allows you to print a PDF even if the print permission is denied?

I use Love PDF for most things but there’s a few online resources for editing PDFs that are good.

Sweet, I have forms to fill out and will try it out!

Filling in pdfs is annoying

It amazes me there aren't more pdf editors. Adobe basically said it's freeware years ago.

I use PDF x-change viewer, bit unintuitive but it can do everything

It’s unironically my favorite windows app lol

Really? Because they still charge for Acrobat.

Didn't know that was a thing. Built in or need a. Extension? What kind of editing is enabled(fill, sign, full edit...?) and how would you compare it to other solutions and online editors?

It's just filling forms, adding text, and drawing. It doesn't have actual editing capabilities.

What's actual editing?

A lot of my interaction with PDFs could be completed with filling oit forms/drawing

Things like changing, moving, or deleting text and images, inserting or reordering pages, and editing the table of contents.
There's not many open source programs capable of doing that. Pdftk and LibreOffice Draw are probably the best options right now.

Ooh, I hadn’t realized that LibreOffice had that capability, good to know
