Have tested this myself - you need to still give permission to the app to be connected to your account if you haven't used them, but other than that, it works out of the box.

If you don't like this, your best option would probably be to move to https://revolt.chat/

I wish I could move, but everything I want access to support for, only offers it on fucking discord.

AI bad! /thread

Did y'all know anyone can download the images you share to channels they can see, and they'd be able to edit them with any tool! Madness!

Man life is short, I just like some whack Discord images, if you don't like it, don't use it.

What stops someone from taking images from discord now and doing this with a tool that isn’t built in?

It is 3rd party apps having access to your stuff in privste discord channels/servers without the ability to deny that access.

Yeah, discord could access it and probably had some sharing thing in their eula. But this is direct access by 3rd parties without user consent.

Their ToS states explicitly that they do not share any data ("We do not sell or share the personal information of our users as defined in the CCPA"), which would get them in a lot of legal trouble if proven otherwise, so they wouldn't risk it.

Hence, 3rd party apps! They have their own ToS and that means their hands are "clean".
