Hnnng, please remake the entire Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series!
I would kill for a remaster of Jedi Outcast/Jedi Academy with more modern graphics and sound, but with the same fantastic lightsaber mechanics.

Do the X-Wing/TIE Fighter games next!
Why am I seeing so many remastered Star Wars games coming out? First Battlefront 1 & 2 and now this? I mean, I'm not mad and definitely excited. Just confused because I thought EA and Disney had exclusive rights when it came to the Star Wars games, or was I wrong?
Also do Dark Forces 2 next that game is my jam.
SW JK: DFII was my first online multiplayer experience. I remember the first map I found, was a big pit thing that had a castle like entrance at the bottom of the pit that I think turned into a casino. Great times trying to figure out how to play that on my dad's work Sony Viao laptop with DSL.
Iirc EA lost the exclusive game rights after Battlefront 2 (2017).
That's also why Ubisoft is making an open-world star wars game
More specifically disney didnt renew thd deal, and the deal runs out here soon.
I hate EA as much as the next guy... But I think I'd rather have them make a Star Wars game over Ubisoft
Higher profit on low investment + moderate returns, makes sense to ship them non stop. Higher investment projects could mean more profit but it also means higher risks.
I hope they do Dark Forces 2 as well. Although the fan enhancements are already great. And it's hard to do, since the original source code is supposedly lost. And the apparently the engine has some weird quirks that are hard to replicate in a modern engine.
There's an open source reimplementation of the Sith Engine that'd make a good base. Like KeeperFX, the project gradually reimplements every engine function while falling back to the original executable for any that haven't been converted yet, and is sitting at nearly 100℅ complete for everything other than the rasterizer, which is apparently a mess to untangle.
True, but if Nightdive get a deal to do it, I guarantee they'll use KEX like they have for all their other ports.
Right. I meant in regards to the original source code being lost, the hard work of reverse engineering it has already been done. That should make a potential port less of a nightmare for the team.
