I too like to play "balance the meat". I see you're at the winter level.
It's just the angle of the photo. The bbq is level, the shelf is solid metal. I chipped away all the frozen ice under to make sure it was flat before I preheated ceramics.
That is the before shot, this is after.
That close to the edge in the first photo makes me uneasy. Beyond that it looks damn good.
It is actually around 2/3 on the shelf but the angle was odd so it looks precarious.
