One parallel that I haven't noticed anyone talking about is the history of textiles. In Andor the Ghorman are described as making the best textiles in the galaxy. Palestine has also shared a historical relevance related to fine textile work. The term gauze is likely of etymological origin with Gaza (this is debated but seems fairly solid). The link below is about historical practices of embroidery and bead work in Palestinian clothing.
