Reading this honestly reminds me of some of the Austrian antics in the battle of Karánsebes (I'd thought the incident was in WW1, but apparently I was wrong looking it up). Basically, with alcohol, the differing languages of the various nationalities of the empire, etc.. they wound up slaughtering themselves.

I wonder how Avdiivka will stack up once the fog of war is lifted.... it honestly sounds like a similar utter clusterfuck.
