If humanity stays on current course, warns top insurer, the "financial sector as we know it ceases to function. And with it, capitalism as we know it ceases to be viable."

As we know it, that's the important part.

If food is even more scarce and houses have to be built sooner, people are locked into capitalism even more.

Insurance allowed people to have some of the security that comes from being rich. How convenient when people lose it all and have to start working for cents, just to survive.
