China has the entire developing world, their own growing middle class, and europe for import/export. There is nothing america produces that is exclusive or the best cost, and with the us economy dying it's not like china can sell to the us profitably for a while.

Exhaust parts. They are migrating to EV. We aren’t. My suppliers are panicking. At the same time the cost of labor and material is so low that now I’m moving Mexico parts to China. It’s still too costly here.

...you understand how tiny of an industry that is compared to nearly anything else china exports, right?

And the entire world is going towards evs, even developing countries since generators are more efficient over time than dealing with all the parts of a ice vehicle.

Some businesses might go under if they somehow can't pivot their floors to produce something more profitable, but the entire 'problem' western firms have when competing with china is that they're set up to easily pivot and expand production to different items.

I do understand and I’m not sure it will be around long enough for me to retire. Especially with SS probably being dismantled.
