Teaching.

I been teaching for eight years, I don't like it anymore. I enjoyed it at first, but then COVID hit and... nothing's ever quite been the same.

There's a lot of anxiety and anger in students that I simply cannot fully help them with.

State testing gets more invasive each year.

What’s the main ‘symptom’ of the anxiety and anger you’ve observed?

Apathy and Instant Gratification go hand in hand.

Apathy because education cannot offer the instant gratification screens and the online world can give them in seconds.

Even when I offer students the option to see movies or play edu-games similar to Kahoot that they show interest in, they don't really show much interest.

As always, remember there are exceptions.

That’s rough. I hope you are able to transition into something you enjoy doing. I know several public school teachers and they all report the same thing. I’ve noticed both of those traits have become more prominent in myself in the last 10 years or so as I spend more time with devices than I used to. I would be struggling as a student right now for sure.
