How do you pick a color scheme?

then think about what colors communicate (or don't communicate, always think of opposites) when picking exact colors. For example I like using pinkish hues in logos because it's not a color you see often in this setting and so it catches the eye. It communicates you do things differently. I don't know if I really believe in the meaning of color thing, e.g. red looks like fire and so red will make people angry, that kind of stuff.
