As someone who has repeatatly asked for moderation rights on the Europe community on lemmy.ml due to blatant misinformation posted there all the time (by someone closely affiliated with the Lemmy devs, so I gave up on that community), I guess I'll have to step up here. But it would be nice to have a team of moderators ๐
I'm willing to help if you still need more moderators.
I am interested to help
c/austria mod and linz.city admin here, I can help with moderation if you'd like.
Hi, if you need help i would be willing to help as i lurk anyways 9-5 CET
Great! We're happy to take your help. If you don't mind, I'll leave it up to you to decide who you want to appoint as more mods?
I'm sorry to say but this person is unfit to mod c/Europe and has been deleting posts quite arbitrarily. Can you please do a fresh mod call? If you don't find anyone else I can volunteer my time in the interim.
The mod log is open, I stand by my decisions ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Thanks and yes that works for me.
Anyone else interested please reply to my top level comment so that get notifications.
Not interested in being the lead mod, but happy to help with the grunt work
Don't take it personal, but you don't have a history of posting in Europe related communities and your home instance is from Malaysia (which is a fine country but definitely not in Europe).
I'm currently a permanent resident in Norway, but no worries. I don't have any particular desire to mod, just offering to help if needed.
On the other hand, can be useful to have a moderator in a totally different time zone to the rest of the team.
Lack of history seems more relevant, though not as much as a candidate's personality.
I agree mods should be from Europe since they would most likely know more about the topics being discussed, quickly browsing through your history, you also never posted on Europe related communities.
I posted a lot in the lemmy.ml europe community in the past.
But yes, I am from the EU, currently living in Portugal, but that isn't my nationality.
I hate seeing tankies, and they are everywhere in the fediverse.
