strange question for you, and you dont have to answer: Why the choice of the word "girlfriend" rather than "partner"? I find this kind of stuff fascinating!
it depends what the bf or gf prefers.
Maybe this only kicks in when its marriage level: but I personally go with what annoys her most! That little groan and eye roll she does when i try (and fail) to make her laugh is what fuels me haha
I guess I'm one of those people that finds people who use the word partner annoying. I could use it since we've been together for so long and have kids but I find girlfriend feels right to me
interesting. For me I always felt like a teenager saying it once we lived together. shows how everyones different I guess.
It does feel that way at times but I'll stick to girlfriend until if we ever get married
I go between boyfriend and partner, depending on the situation. But now that I'm thinking about it, I have no idea what in the situation dictates which I use...
