Tempered glass table outside exploded! Luckily the shards were not super sharp.
Iโm sticking with wooden tables for life now!
Wise decision. I refuse to have glass tables since Mr P was at a friend's house and put his glass down after making an emphatic statement and the entire table top shattered. Cost a pretty penny to have it fixed too, it was smokey glass of a particular thickness to fit the table frame.
I'm going to remove all doubt and just use the ground myself.
Even better. The ground is free!
Great idea!
Must have been scratched at some point. Then the internal tension of the tempering coupled with a temperature differential would have done that. I once worked in a skyscraper in the CBD where this happened to the external glass cladding. Turned out that the clamps that held the glass in place had scratched the glass in one corner when they were installed. On the morning of a very hot day after a cold night (like last night) the glass went boom crash opera all over the pavement outside as soon as the sun hit it. The security guards thought it was a bullet but turned out to be nothing so dramatic. Just fizzics and poor installation technique.
Yikes. Furniture should not go BOOM
Jeez. Nothing like a spontaneous glass table explosion to start your saturday :(
We got snow in late Spring!
