The Satanic Temple

I noticed there wasn't a TST Lemmy community. The Satanic Temple is a modern satanic religion that aims to promote human rights and compassion. Check out their about page on their official website at https://thesatanictemple.com/pages/about-us. Note that this community is not an official affiliation. TST is also separate and not affiliated with the Church of Satan, who have a slightly different viewpoint of what satanism truly is. Dunno what to post in here, but maybe some will search for this and take part. Hello!

TST sucks ass though. Their leadership is all abusive right wing hierarchical assholes and all they actually do is profit off of an image that they fight for abortion rights and such, when in reality they've never won a court case and have been time and time again completely incompetent in their litigations. Theres a huge community of grassroots actually leftist satanists and after being deprogrammed from TST they all try to come out about the abuses they suffered at the hands of TST leadership only to be sued into silence. There's a ton of info about this, but a good place to start for those curious is the group Queer Satanic.

A link to a local St. Louis, Missouri paper with an excellent report on your abortion claim. They interview one of the pregnant women who was told they would help her, but basically it ended with a lot of publicity for them and nothing for her.

News story #3 is actually kind of crazy to me. The only possible explanation for someone filling that lawsuit is if they don't believe in their own tenets. The suit has no grounds and is meant to suppress criticism.

It pretty clearly is a direct contradiction with tenet 4 (respecting freedoms of others, especially the freedom to offend) I might expect hypocrisy like this from other religious groups, but for TST, the tenets are a fundamental part of their movement.
