πŸ™‚Today I bought the last of the materials I need to restore the cabinet and frame of my old sewing machine. It's about 120 years old and it's a functional machine so it has a lot of knocks, it looks old. I got medium grade steel wool to clean the iron up as the hardware store didn't have wire brushes and I got paint which included primer. A new paint brush with an extra long handle for those hard to get at bits. I'm quite excited to get it all done. It won't look pristine or even great but it will look good. Next I might tackle cleaning up the machine inside. I have a new belt to put on and I have machine oil and rust remover. Might even touch up some paint.

Also bought some good dark furniture wax to protect the newly painted big chairs and the sewing machine cabinet.

I have loads of microfibre cloths for these jobs.

Patina is a good thing. Over cleaning is a flaw to me. I’m assuming some sort of treadle Singer.

yep, old treadle. It's not over cleaned at all. Patina is good, dirt is not. It's a H series , that makes it 118 years old.
