The leaves seem larger and darker than any cultivar I've seen, and I'd really like to acquire one.

Thanks. I do think it is that but I was looking for an even more specific cultivar because of the size and darkness of the leaves. I have an elastica and have seen many at garden centers but none like this one.

I once gave my mother one of these and its as dark as in the picture.. But later she gave me some offshoots and it's not as dark anymore. So mileage may vary how they turn out.
