more boring long tales of adventures in the domestic arts

Some more steps in restoring a pair of antique chairs. Here I have started to strip the old chair seat off, , exposing the springs. I took all of it off, the cover and padding, took out all the tacks, then removed the base and springs. Then I reversed it. Put a new base liner on then sewed the springs back on, then wove new supporting webbing and stapled it on . Put the original kapok padding back on, then a new padding liner, then the tapestry cover. Lastly I will put on a strong fabric liner over the webbing and springs. Nearly done!

thanks, it's my first attempt at this kind of work too, the other chairs I did were just fabric and padding over a wooden chair seat
