Today's question: i know you can get sub-meter circuits for mains. But can you get ones with safety switches built in? ๐Ÿค”

In other news, mordialloc vintage market was a terrible place to take me to and his lordship has no right to complain about what happened when he did. Not when I literally just bought a pikestaff

Pike or halberd? Cool whichever.

Oooooh, nice. Pity you're not renting anymore - would be nice to prop up in a corner of the living room for the next landlord inspection ...

woulda also been spectacular to mount on my bike for the key handover. It's almost completely overshadowed the fact I also scored a mangle

Jelly! Mangles are great for sheets/towels. Better than spinning imo especially big heavy stuff that unbalances the machine.

it's a bench clamp one too, one of these but...needs some TLC. Mostly new rollers and some rust treatment though!

[โ€“] [email protected] 2 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Best of luck finding new rollers cos that won't be easy. Might have to get them relined or something. Impressive little mafchine though. There's a thought in my head that you could do some cool stuff with lino printing with it too if you're into that sort of thing. Sort of negative impression quasi silk screen printing on t shirts etc.

I've found some custom rubber roller companies, probably exxy as fuck, but i have options. Worst case i can replace with wood, but would need to tweak the tension.

A medieval pikestaff type pikestaff? Cool. ๐Ÿ‘

technically a pike pole I suppose, but this looks like a home built jobbo of the kind designed to do horrible things or possibly someone who got way into their kid playing Roman Centurion #3 at easter and had genX levels of child safety in mind.

......but let's be honest, who's gonna argue semantics with the woman wielding a chunk of spiked and curved metal on a 50mm diameter shaft?

I has an encyclopedia of these types of things. I'll look it up. A pike is a long stick with a simple pointy end.

EDIT: For the curious: the two spoilers after the three colons have different uses in the markup. First denotes a spoiler, or hidden text. Second defines the subject. So in my case I typed spoiler pic

That is literally the coolest object I've ever laid eyes on. Dayum ๐Ÿ˜
