All things about Fallout series.

I got hyped by the TV series so I will play the game for the first time (yes, I know, it took this long). I usually prefer to buy GOG version of a game but I saw the rating of FO4 GOG at 3.9/5. Why is that? I have read somewhere that there is technical issue of some sort which includes modding for GOG version? I expected higher gamer rating for FO4 in GOG but a lower rating typically indicates for me some genuine issues.

Edit: also the GOG Version says it does not include the Creation Club. What is it and is it in some way better than using Nexus mods?

The game is pretty bad imo. I don't think that matters when you never played a fallout game or like Bethesda jank

Yeah I’m with you. Fallout 4 was so boring I don’t think I even finished it. The settlement mechanic was annoying. The guns were somehow worse and less interesting than NV. The environments were just “samey” for the most part and lack substantial variety. The skill or RPG elements were simplified to the point of being almost pointless. Even going with the basic stealth sniper build, by the time I stopped I had stuff all interesting snipers bar the one main one and meaningful progression for my build had all but vanished. The characters are boring save for a handful like valentine. The weapons, god I hate the shitty pipe/scavenged weapons that ate up more than 0% of the gun roster. Honestly Fallout 4 marked the decline that would be much further emphasised by 76.

Avoid it if you’re unsure and try one of the older ones. There are better post apoc games, better RPGs and better open world games. Get them instead.

I like it.

It's old, though.

But, then, that's also par for the course for GOG, so...shrug

Please don’t call Fallout 4 old. Please. I can’t take being aged this casually.

I mean, old for the fast-moving genre of first-person 3D games, where (checks) nine years is a long time in terms of technology. Obviously, it's a lot younger than, say, Pac-Man, and people still play and enjoy that game in its original form.

I've heard of criticisms about FO4 which is why I'm not enthused to buy the game when it first came out. I'm thinking of just finishing the game as quickly as possible for the lore. I have not even finished FO2.

The game isn't horrible but it is an almost 9 year old game and if you don't have nostalgia for it then it's probably not gonna be a great time.
