That’s odd reasoning.

The music industry completely changed once music became digital. They were right to sound the alarm. A discussion could be had on what the best approach should have been, but to pretend like Metallica ruined the internet is nonsense.

The modern internet is shit because corporations have been allowed to consolidate and their business model is growth over quality. We also lack proper protections over user data.

The internet’s current problems are not because of Metallica or that Napster got called out. Last I checked file sharing is easier than ever. Different, but thriving.
