Whoever made that meme has no idea how much money construction workers spend on footwear. If you "find an extra pair of boots" on a site, their owner is eventually going to find YOU. And then he is going to bury you in the asphalt with your bare-ass feet sticking out, because he's also going to take your fucking boots.

Yeah, you know what? I bought the expensive boots, they were worse. What the hell does that mean? I remain extremely pissed off about it, don't ever buy Birkenstock steel toecaps, the entire company can fuck off and die.

I don't know about their boots but Birkenstock insoles are usually made out of cork, designed in a way to shape to your foot. That's why they tend to be recommended by podiatrists. It might be that you didn't wear them long enough to break them in.

It was not that. They were so broken in the stitching split at the seams. They were just very badly designed so dust and soil got behind the toecap and couldn't be removed. Terrible pair of shoes, and believe me, at that price I really wanted to like them.
