Curious are you in agreement with West that NATO and the west are to blame for Russia's Invasion of Ukraine? He opposes funding for Ukraine and wants to end the conflict giving Putin parts of the sovereign nation of Ukraine.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 months ago (28 children)

he called the invasion illegal.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago (27 children)

Illegal but acceptable it seems. Giving in to Putin will never stop him.

[–] [email protected] -2 points 6 months ago (1 children)

he never said it's acceptable

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 months ago (1 children)

He did. He wants Ukraine to accept that Russia has stolen their land and people. If it wasn't acceptable then he would want them to fight back.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

you're mischaracterizing and making leaps of logic.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

West is willing to accept Russia's demand for parts of Ukraine. That would be a requirement to stop the war. Unless you think West thinks Putin will give back what he has stolen?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

So what is his position? He doesn't support Ukraine defending itself. What does he support? He has stated he supports a negotiated end to the war. Negotiated. What do you think that means? It can ONLY mean Ukraine negotiates how much land Putin is allowed to steal.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

he could mean total withdrawal and reparations. you are making leaps of logic.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Ok you're trolling me. Or do you believe in any situation where Russia is not defeated yet agrees to total withdrawal and reparations?

anything is possible if cornel west is elected

West shares Trumps view of Putin and would allow to re-arm and attack again. Both are opposed to NATO which would lead to a US exit of NATO and a large proliferation of nuclear weapons as countries can no longer rely on the US nuclear safety net and would have to build their own. The only reason we have so few nations without nuclear weapons is the existence of NATO. West/Trump are a threat to humanity.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Both are opposed to NATO

for different reasons. I oppose NATO, too.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Whats the alternative to a group agreement of protection and limit to nukes like NATO provides?

What do you mean? Abolition of the idea of sovereign countries?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)
[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Then just abolish violence. Just as easy.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

the existence of the state doesn't abolish violence, so why should that be the standard?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Wishing for all states to just stop existing is just as likely as wishing for all violence to be abolished. Why waste a wish?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

i'm not wishing. i'm organizing.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

You are organizing to convince nations like the US and China and Russia to just stop existing? Just convince people to get along and to stop being corrupt. Nations are fine if people get along.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago

I'm organizing locally to build power outside of the state.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

West shares Trumps view of Putin and would allow to re-arm and attack again.

you have no evidence for this

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Evidence: Russia completed the theft of Crimea(while denying their active invasion of it) and immediately built up forces for another attack while denying it would ever attack Ukraine again all the while talking about how Ukraine isn't a real country. There is no evidence Russia will stop until it controls all of Ukraine as they have said they wanted to do many times.

West and Trump want to trust Putin...a verified(many times over) liar and willing to break agreements and treaties at any moment.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

when did either of them say they trust putin? especially cornel west?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Negotiating for peace implies trust that the peace treaty will be followed...otherwise why negotiate the treaty?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Negotiating for peace implies trust

right. that doesn't mean that they have said they do trust him.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago

They haven't said it but they would HAVE to do it to negotiate as they said they want to do. Yet Putin has proven himself untrustworthy over and over.
